These clamps fit over your sway bar and prevent the bar from moving side-to-side (laterally) under hard cornering or transitions. Without a clamp or stop the bar will shift laterally, decreasing swaybar performance and effectiveness. Wider and stickier tires will exasperate the problem. Many stock bars now have a bushing that is bonded to the bar and some aftermarket performance bars come with a similar rings pre-installed. These clamps are installed tight against the inside of your existing bushing and bracket.
