BimmerWorld View - The stock RSMs in your car are made of soft rubber that gives a minimal connection between your car and the shock that controls its movement over the road. That soft stock rubber also wears quickly and needs replacement after several thousand miles. If the shock can't do its work because of poorly-designed OE bushings, you are giving up significant handling capability. These Powerflex rear shock mounts solve this problem.
Powerflex Rear Shock Mounts are the ideal replacement for the RSMs on your E36, E46, Z3, or Z3 with 10mm-thread rear shocks. Not only will these provide a noticeable improvement in rear shock performance and handling, they're also guaranteed to last a lifetime!
Powerflex has extensive experience in automotive suspension and chassis systems and has combined these skills with advanced polyurethane manufacturing techniques. Bushing durometer (stiffness) has been carefully selected for specific uses:
Street Performance for slightly more sport and precision in daily driving environments. Urethane material for less deflection, more precise handling, and better steering response but while retaining some comfort for street use. No track or very little autocross. If you attempt to use these in competitive driving you will quickly be outclassed by others with true race equipment.
Heritage for vintage models. Same durometer as the purple street compound, but cast in a dark gray urethane for a more original-equipment appearance.
Track/Race-only is for dedicated track cars that are never intended to be driven on the street (you might throw a plate on it and run to the store). Basically, if your car has racing harnesses instead of seat belts. These will be the stiffest urethane or Delrin for near-zero deflection and extremely precise alignment settings. NVH and comfort is not a factor in the engineering of these bushings. Our preference is for Delrin over Black urethane for track use.
Powerflex copper-based grease is supplied with every bushing set, and they will rarely need re-lubing due to the unique design features built into the material to hold the lubricant.
NOTE: These are designed to fit standard shock absorbers and performance shock absorbers with 10mm thread. Most non-adjustable shocks will have a 10mm shaft diameter including OE, Bilstein, KONI non-adjustable.
Fits all E46/E36/E36 3-Series, plus Z4 and Z3 cars; including M models.
