Rear Bump Stop, Aftermarket - E9X 325i/328i/330i/335i M Sport or Lowered

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 33536767335 (33 53 6 767 335) and is described as a rear bump stop for the M Sport suspension in E9X 325i/328i/330i/335i (RWD models) and the standard suspension on E84 X1 28i/35i. It's also known as an additional shock absorber. Sold per bump stop and includes dust boot.

The bump stop is a stiff foam block that slides over the shaft of your front strut or rear shock. Under full compression the bump stop prevents the shock from completely bottoming-out, causing damage to the shock or to the chassis. In other scenarios the bump stop can actually play an active role in the handling and stiffness of the car. Because of their placement, bump stops are subjected to debris, moisture, and heat and this can degrade its performance or cause it to fail completely. BMW insists on new bump stops any time a new shock is installed on a car*.

* - many aftermarket performance shocks like Bilstein or KONI will come with their own bump stops and new ones are not required. This does not apply to any Bilstein or KONI or other brand marked as "OEM".

This is a shorter and stiffer bump stop originally fitted on cars with the BMW M Sport suspension option (code S704A). It is suitable for any other E90, E91, E92, E93 that has been lowered.

This part is manufactured by an aftermarket supplier of European auto parts, including many suspension components. While not carrying OEM status, this part follows the design of the original very closely and uses similar materials. An aftermarket part may even have the same TUV approval as its OEM counterpart. The brand may even be OEM to another manufacturer besides BMW. This aftermarket brand has a two year warranty - the same as Genuine BMW and OEM brands.
