These performance urethane 2002 rear subframe mounts are stiffer than the factory rubber bushings. With a stiffer bushing there is less deflection and change, especially under load. This is a full set of rear mounts for both the left and right side. They come as a upper and lower mount to press into the factory rear housing (housing not included).
These bushings replace BMW part numbers 33333113926, 33333428100.
The entire rear suspension is mounted to the chassis with these subframe mounts. This makes them essential to handling performance, ride, and even traction. As torque is applied through the rear differential the suspension must not deflect too much to cause instability. Rubber subframe mounts can deflect and flex even when brand new and especially with added power and torque. Urethane bushings slot in-between soft rubber and solid Delrin or aluminum to deliver more precision and performance without degrading Noise, Vibration, or Harshness. The firmer material keeps the alignment in check with less variation. The car feels more planted and confidence-inspiring. Street Performance (Purple): mild upgrade over a stock rubber bushing. Improved performance without a great sacrifice in ride comfort.
Street/Track (Black): Uncompromised performance for the track. Nearly solid bushing with very little deflection. Much improved performance but you may experience additional noise and comfort on the street.
Note: Powerflex copper-based grease is supplied with every bushing set, and they will rarely need re-lubing due to the unique design features built into the material to hold the lubricant.
