Trunk Tool Kit Towing Hook Eye / Eyelet - E36

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 72158119188 (72 15 8 119 188) and is described as Trunk Tool Kit Towing Hook Eye for the E36 3 Series, 1992-1999. 

The E36 3 series came equipped with a very basic (but very handy) tool kit on the interior of the trunk lid. When you open the trunk on an E36, the tool kit opens up to reveal a handful of essential hand tools, which includes this screw-on towing eye hook. The hook threads into either the front or rear bumper of your E36 giving you (or your tow truck driver) a secure towing hook to pull your BMW with. 

It's very common for the tow hook to get lost in the course of an E36's lifespan. Often the the car gets towed and this tow hook doesn't get stored back in the tool kit, leaving your E36 missing it's tow hook and an empty spot for it in the trunk took kit. This replacement E36 tow hook can fix this issue! You definitely don't want to be in need of a tow without at least one of these tow hooks. Many people buy a second as a spare for this exact reason. 

This item was found in all E36 models (the third generation body style 3 series) such as the 318i, 318is, 318ti, 318ic, 325i, 325is, 325ic, 328i, 328is, 328ic, 323is, 323ic, and E36 M3. The E36 3 series spanned the model years 1992 (4 door sedan only), 1993 (sedan/coupe), 1994 (all body styles), 1995 (all body styles), 1996 (all body styles), 1997 (all body styles), 1998 (all body styles), and 1999 (coupe/convertible ONLY for 1999.)
