BMW Jack Pad - Z3 Roadster

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 51718398169 (51 71 8 398 169) and is described as the jack pad (aka Support Lifting Platform) for early Z3 Roadster models. It's a hard plastic panel which sits on the underside of the rocker panel and provides the best place to position jack stands, a floor jack, or lift arms. By using the jack pad you can be sure the floor and undercarriage won't get scratched or damaged, exposing the bare metal and risking rust and corrosion. Your car originally came with 4 jack pads but they often fall out or get damaged.

BMW lists two different jack pads for the Z3 (51718407559 and 51718398169). This is the early style that simply clips into the rocker panel without any other hardware. The later style uses two mounting screws and plastic anchors. We don't know if they are interchangeable but it might be worth checking for the screws in case some fitted the later style.
