This 18" semi-aggressive square setup was originally put together for the non-M E46 rear wheel drive models, as used on one of our own BimmerWorld Sales Reps personal cars. It also can be used on E36 (including E36 M3), Z3, Z4 non-M (thru 2010), as well as E60/E61 5 Series and others.

Not looking for Silver?
If you like the sounds of this setup, but want another color (perhaps Gloss Black or Gloss Gunmetal), you can do the same thing by buying four 18x9 ET42 from our main TA5R 18" wheel listing (in the related items below). This special pricing is offered while supply lasts, and only for the silver colorway.

This is a complete set of four TA5R 18x9" wheels, in Silver, with an ET42 offset that allows them to fit comfortably on several BMW chassis. We love this setup on a stock or modified E46 non-M car such as the 330Ci, 330i, 325Ci, 325i, 328Ci, 328i, 323Ci and 323i for model years 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005 (as well as the two-door models into 2006). These also look and fit FANTASTIC on the 330i ZHP and 330Ci ZHP! There's enough clearance to run them as is on a stock car, and if you have a lowered modified suspension, there's generally room for spacers or larger tires. (See our fitment notes below, and consult with us if you need help.)

TA5R uses the latest industry technology known as flow-forging or flow-forming. The process is similar to casting but with a stronger roll-forged barrel and a tighter grain structure that makes the wheel stronger. The superior process far surpasses older manufacturing that use a straight casting process. Our TA5R 18" wheels have a load rating of 720kg (1,587lbs), which is higher than other so-called track wheels. Flow-forming and precise machining also produce a lighter wheel - our 18" sizes come in at 18.66lbs. The TA5R has been fatigue and impact tested using SAE, JWL, and VIA standards.

The wide-V-spoke design stretches all the way to the outer lip, a key component to the TA5R's strength. They also allow tremendous caliper clearance behind the spokes. 18" sizes clear Brembo F40, StopTech ST40, and PFC 332mm, 355mm, and some 380mm 4-piston brake kits.

Thanks to its lightweight, reinforced barrel and robust face design, the TA5R stands up well against the rigors of endurance racing, as well as your average street potholes. The 18" TA5R features a load rating of 1,587lbs.

TA5R features:

  • Wide V-spoke design out to the outer lip - superior strength
  • Flow-formed, roll-forged barrel - high strength but low weight
  • Reinforced inner lip for added strength over kerbs
  • Knurled bead seat reduces tire slippage
  • Huge spoke clearance for big brake kits
  • Closed-face hub maximizes strength in the hub
  • Accepts OE BMW center cap (TA5R cap included)
  • Accepts factory lug bolts, wheel locks, or stud conversions
  • 32mm lug hole accommodates 19mm sockets
  • Protective recessed valve stem pocket
  • Tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) compatible (not included)

Priced for a set of 4.

Fitment Note: we do our best to display wheels that fit your BMW model, based on your model selection. Many variables must be considered for wheel fitment, especially when using larger wheels or different offsets. These variables include: suspension type and settings, ride height, tire size, bodywork changes, and alignment settings. In some cases, additional parts or modifications may be necessary for fitment that may not be listed in our catalog. Final wheel fitment and clearance is the responsibility of the customer, however, we welcome your questions on fitment, size, offset, or other wheel-related inquiries. Wheel returns are limited to quality issues only.

Using Wheel Spacers with this Wheel Set
These wheels are usually compatible with 5mm and 10mm spacers, however, 12mm is a better choice due to known design limitations of 10mm spacers. Using wheel spacers is optional on a stock suspension, but can be appealing if you have a modified suspension. For example, you may want a 5mm spacer on the front for extra strut clearance on a coilover suspension, or a 12mm on the rear to go as wide as possible on the rear. (Fender rolling and modifications can be necessary if you use too large a spacer.)
