High lift Schrick camshafts for street performance
Schrick cams for the S54 in the E46 M3, MZ3, and Z4M are a must-have item to increase top-end power. Combine these cams with intake upgrades such as our CSL intake or headers and big power is available up top. Cams work by optimizing intake and exhaust flow for a certain RPM range. Combined with proper tuning there is nothing better for making peak power gains on the S54.
These are the high lift version of the M3 CSL cams. The standard Schrick CSL cams are 288/280 with 12.5mm of valve lift. These have 14.0mm of valve lift. Because of the deeper opening additional valvetrain parts are required: valve springs, retainers, spring seats, custom pistons, and new rocker arms (all parts sold separately). Our Epic Motorsports S54 cam tune works best with this package. Our experience with Epic is more power and torque is available through the stock ECU than any other tune and even more than some standalone tunes. We can even provide Alpha-N tuning to match these cams.

1. You must ensure the new springs are not fully compressed with the new valve lift.
2. Valve timing and valve opening durations are shown minus the ramps.
3. Valve timing is shown in °Crankshaft in relation to TDC.
4. All valve lift figures are shown without deduction of valve lash, i.e. the actual valve lift is the stated valve lift minus the valve lash. Hydraulic lifters have no lash so the valve lift is the actual valve lift.
