This plastic screw-in fastener is used on several BMW models to anchor items into the carpet securely. A common application is for the floor storage net (cargo net) on some BMW models.
It has a special tapered thread that allows it to burrow in to the carpet pile and embed itself fairly tightly, while providing a thin channel for the edge of the floor net to hook on to.
