Door Latch Striker, BMW - Z3 Roadster/Coupe

This part is critical to both the door latch mechanism of your Z3 (or MZ3), but it also controls other body electronic related features such as interior lighting, door ajar warnings, the alarm system as well as the electric windows (Which need to jog up and down that extra quarter/half inch whenever you open or close the door). 

When the switch inside this door striker goes bad, it can have your Z3 doing some odd things! The Z3's computer will essentially think the door is open when it is closed. Your alarm may go off randomly while parked and locked, and your frame-less side windows may not do the "jog" up and down when entering or exiting the vehicle. The internal switch has a plastic plunger that wears out after years of use, and the fix is to replace the strike and switch assembly. 

This Genuine BMW door striker / latch plate includes a fresh new switch and can help solve your Z3 door latch issues. This can be used on any 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 or 2002 model Z3, including all the engine variants (1.9, 2.3, 2.5, 2.8, 3.0 and 3.2 liter), both roadster and coupe, as well as the Z3 M Roadster and Coupe models.
