Steering Column Switch Housing - F-Chassis 5/6/7 Series w/o Auto High-Beam

This complex part is a critical component for F chassis 5 series, 6 series and 7 series models (including chassis codes F01 F02 F06 F07 F10 F12 F13). It contains the electronics and switches behind the steering wheel, and can fail in a variety of ways. If any of these sub-systems of this housing fail, it means replacing the entire unit as an assembly. 

NOT for cars with High-beam Assistant. Only for cars WITHOUT option code S5ACA. If you car has automatic high beams, this is not the switch housing you want as it lacks preparation for the auto high-beam assistance. Please check your car's build options or contact us to check your VIN for compatibility if you are not sure. 

A common failures on this switch panel includes a failure of either the clock spring and/or steering angle sensor problems. The cars use the steering angle sensor for the DSC (dynamic stability control) and a failure will cause ABS/DSC codes and trigger several warning lights on the dash. If either of the switch stalks (turn signals and board computer on the left, window wiper / washer on the right) it can also necessitate replacement of this steering column panel. 

This part may require coding. Additional coding is likely needed to program the unit to the car. This can be done with factory service equipment, an experienced Independent Mechanic, or a BMW dealership. 

As an electronic part, this part is not returnable once opened or installed. This part does include a two year warranty from BMW as an Original BMW part.
