This is one of the iconic BMW Motorsport golf ball shift knobs used on factory racecars in the 1990s-2000s. There are two designs currently available -
25118277905 (this listing) - larger 19mm (3/4") hole in the bottom to slide over the shift lever. This is larger than the standard BMW shift lever size of 14mm. To use this knob will require an insert or tape wrapped around the shift lever to take up the space.
25008322191 (
click here for listing) - used with a stock BMW shift lever (14mm). This is the correct size for all factory BMW shift levers so it's a direct fit. This knob is 3mm taller than the other one.
Both designs are the same overall size with the same number and size of the "dimples". Overall diameter (height and width) is roughly the same 50-53mm (2 inches).
The golf ball knob is made with a rubber outer coating over a steel insert. It provides excellent grip under any condition, even when wet, and especially with racing gloves. The small overall diameter is a snug fit in almost anyone's palm or fingers.
