OEM-type 2-piece floating rotor for E36 M3 and MZ3 with an anti-corrosion phosphate coating. This is one of the very best brake rotors you can use on an E36 M3, especially for track use.

BMW used this style of rotor on the Euro E36 M3 models. It has an aluminum center hat separated from the main friction disc. This design cools the rotor much better than the single-piece cast iron rotors that were on US M3s. BMW long ago blocked the Euro rotors from being sold in the US but the same 2-piece E36 M3 rotors are available from OE supplier Zimmermann.

Zimmermann Z-Coat rotors are the same size as stock BMW rotors but include an anti-corrosion phosphate coating that resists rust. Uncoated aftermarket or OEM rotors will quickly rust on the middle hat and inner vanes. Zimmermann Coated rotors are made in Germany and can be found as original equipment on some Mercedes, Porsche, and Volkswagen models.
