Most modern BMW models use an electronic actuators to operate the rear calipers for the parking brake. It is not uncommon to have a failure of the motorized actuator.
This OEM electronic parking brake actuator fits the rear left or right caliper on G87 M2, G80 M3, G82/G83 M4, G30 5-Series, F90 M5, G32 6-Series, G12 7-Series, G14/G15/G16 8-Series, and F91/F92/F93 M8 coupe, M8 convertible, and M8 gran coupe.
