Easy and inexpensive way to direct more cooling air to your F8X M2, M3, M4 front brakes when used with racing pads or brake kit.
These deflector plates attach to the front upper control arms (tension struts) and guide air to the center hub of the brake disc to improve cooling. These work best with a front splitter that has brake ducts but can also work without one. The guides take advantage of airflow through the front bumper and aux radiator and direct air to the brakes instead of tumbling around the wheel well. The aux radiator airflow is warmer than ambient but still cooler than the brakes. These were developed on our GTMore project car to improve airflow without installing backing plates and duct hose.

These were developed using SPL tubular control arms but they will also work with stock upper control arms with a slight tweak to the deflector. The factory brake dust shields need to be cut away or removed entirely to expose the center hub.
Full brake ducts and cooling hose are common but may be too much cooling, too expensive, too invasive, or even not effective. Brake temperature needs to be managed - too little and you burn through pads, too much and the brakes don't work as they should. These deflectors are an easy way to moderately increase airflow with a minimal amount of installation and cost.
