Rear ABS Wheel Speed Pulse Sensor - E39 1999-2003

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 34526756376 (34-52-6-756-376) and is described as Rear Abs Pulse Sensor for 1999-2003 model BMW 5 series sedan (not for Wagon models). This includes the 525i, 528i, 530i, 540i and E39 M5 models. 

This rear wheel speed sensor is used by the ABS (anti-lock brake system) on 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 model 5 series sedans. It reports the speed of each of the rear wheels to determine whether the ABS or DSC systems should respond, such as in the case of a spin, slide, or other loss of traction. When the sensor stops working, both the ABS and DSC systems will have faults, and you can expect an ABS/DSC light as well as codes in your ABS computer's diagnostics. 

These are fairly common failure items for the E39 5 series, and replacing a fault ABS wheel speed sensor with a new, high quality replacement is often the "easy fix" for such issues. This sensor is sold individually, so be sure to order two if you are replacing two sensors. (Remember, if one sensor failed, the other may be right behind it!) Sold individually.
