This is the original BMW transmission selector rod for the E9X M3 V8, a critical component in the manual transmission shifting system. This shifter rod was used in all standard 6 speed gearboxes for 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013 model BMW E92 M3 coupe, E90 M3 sedan, and E93 M3 convertible.
It attaches the shifter to the transmission, and serves as the central linkage point between the vertical shifter component (the part that passes into the interior) and the actual internal transmission linkage point.
