DCT Viton Transmission Gasket Set - E9X M3, F8X M2/M3/M4, F10 M5, F06/F13 M6, E89 Z4

This is a Viton gasket set to re-seal the DCT transmission during a major service or overhaul. Included -

+ lower oil pan gasket (pan part #28108070791 or 28107842385)
+ Mechatronics side cover (28607842856)
+ Mechatronics connector sleeve (28607849555)

Replacing the top sleeve and side cover gaskets requires the transmission to be lowered or removed completely for access. A full removal is recommended for the best access as well as for other work like DCT clutches or the driveshaft. Remember that more components need to be un-done or removed to get the transmission out - exhaust, driveshaft / guibo, and the transmission bolts themselves may need replacement or additional parts. A full DCT service will also include fluid, two filters, cleaning the magnet inside the pan, and replacing the fluid pump inside the DCT. We recommend a full service every 80,000 miles but there is no inherent harm in doing it sooner. The Viton material has a higher heat resistance and better chemical compatibility than the factory rubber gasket and seal. The rubber can degrade, become saturated with oil, and soften to the point that it can no longer seal. Staining and leaks around the oil pan and cover are strong indicators that the original gasket has failed. The top Mechatronic connector sleeve will leak but is nearly impossible to detect without access (or small hands). But if there is a vertical leak or stain down the passenger side of the transmission it's a good bet the top sleeve is leaking.
