Guide Rail Axle Stud, BMW - E30 318i, E36 318i -9/95, M42

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11311721322 (11 31 1 721 322) and is described as the lower pivot bolt (axle stud) for the timing chain guide rail on M42 engines on E30 318i and E36 318i (produced before 9/1995). It would be unusual for this to need replacement (the plastic guide rail should wear first) but if you need a new one this is the Genuine factory bolt.

M42 Tensioner Rail note: the original M42 guide rail is on a long backorder from BMW. The later M44 guide rail can work as a replacement but does not use this lower pivot bolt. See our kit part #118.11.530.0001 for the hardware to use with the M44 guide rail. It consists of a bushing, bolt, and washer.
