VANOS Seal Set, Beisan - E39 540i, E38 740i, E53 X5 4.4i/4.6is M62TU

Set of new o-rings and seals to rebuild the VANOS adjusters on the M62TU V8 used in 1999+ E39 540i, E38 740i, E53 X5 4.4i/4.6is.

These seals are made from superior materials (Viton and Teflon) that have a longer service life and are better chemical resistance than the original seals used in a factory-rebuilt M62TU Vanos unit.

Beisan M62TU kit includes the primary Vanos seals for the Vanos pistons and the piston/plastic housings but also includes a few other seals for convenience - secondary air pipes, camshaft chain tensioner shafts, engine beauty cover bolt shafts. A separate top-end gasket set is also required that will include other gaskets and seals you will likely need when getting this far into M62TU service. See Related Items below.

Note 1: If you have never done this work, it's suggested you purchase the Extra Teflon Ring to have on hand. Installing the Teflon Ring on the Vanos piston can be tricky and easy to ruin a Ring on the first try. See Related Items below.

Note 2:  The plastic housing/collar inside the VANOS adjuster unit has its own o-ring that cannot be replaced. Beisan has developed a way to compress the outer housing and create a new, better seal. The tool to compress this is known as the Beisan M62TU Press Tool and it's sold separately. See Related Items below.

Note 3: for 1999 model year cars the Vanos Oil Distribution Pieces on both banks should be replaced due to possible excessive wear. This was limited to 1999 models as BMW began coating the internal bore with Teflon beginning in 2000. See Related Items below.
