Vargas Upgraded PCV Check Valve - E82 135, E9X 335i, E60 535i, F02 740i, E71 X6 35i, E89 Z4 35i

This one-way check valve is a must-have upgrade for any N54 engine used in 2008-2010 E82 135i, 2007-2010 E9X 335i, 2008-2010 E60 535i, 2008-2012 F02 740i, 2009-2010 E71 X6 35i, and 2009-2016 E89 Z4 35i. This upgraded PCV valve fits all N54 valve covers, new or used.

The PCV check valve in the valve cover is supposed to vent oil vapor from the valve cover. The weak plastic on the original part never seals well and liquid oil and vapor is allowed to escape the valve cover and run into the intake manifold instead of returning to the oil pan. This liquid oil settles on the intake valves or is burned up in the engine (neither of which is good). Additional boost, such as from tuning or better turbos, also forces more oil past the check valve. Consider this a Stage 1 upgrade for the oil vent system on N54. It's a 1-for-1 replacement to the original but keeps the factory vent system in place. If you still have oil or carbon issues determine if they are under boost or under vacuum (low pressure). Then look into an oil catch can for one or both systems.

This upgraded oil check valve is made from aluminum and is much stronger than the original plastic. It seals better and will not fail like all of the original ones do. No matter what other crankcase vent upgrades you make (oil catch can or vent-to-atmosphere), if you're using the stock valve cover you need this PCV check valve.
