This kit includes everything you need for an oil change on the E12 528i, 530i (1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981), E28 533i, 535i (1982, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988),  E34 535i (1989, 1990, 1991, 1992), E24 630CSi, 633CSi, 635CSi (1977-1989), E23 733i, 735i (1977-1987), and E32 735i, 735iL (1988-1993).

Kit Contents:
  • 7 quarts of Red Line 15W50 synthetic motor oil (the capacity is approximately 6.1 quarts)
  • 1 OEM Mahle oil filter kit with housing seals and drain plug washer.
Red Line15W50 is our top choice for older BMW engines equipped with rocker arms that called for 15W40 or 20W50 oil from the factory - M10, M20, M30, S14, M88, and S38. It has very high ratings for viscosity at high temps and HTHS resistance (High Temperature, High Sheer).

The Mahle OEM oil filter kit includes the filter and a drain plug crush seal. We insist on OEM or Original BMW filters for our customers. Mahle is an OE supplier to BMW for this and many other filters and components found in your BMW. As an original supplier, Mahle's filter products meet or exceed the requirements from BMW. They are engineered for the correct fit and filtration needs of the M30 6-cylinder engines.

If you proactively maintain your car, and take interest in its care and performance, there are several other things to check during a routine oil change (aka Inspection I service):
  • top off and inspect other fluids: power steering, other hydraulic fluids, coolant, brake fluid (replace annually)
  • empty oil catch can (if added)
  • clean or replace engine air filter (replace annually)
  • clean or replace cabin air filter (replace annually)
  • set all tire pressures, including your spare (if equipped)
  • inspect brake pads and rotors
  • inspect serpentine belts for cracking
  • inspect all hoses, including power steering, for leaks or poor fitment
  • inspect intake boots for cracks or leaks
  • Take this opportunity to inspect the general condition of the engine bay and chassis. Staying ahead of problems, even minor ones, will help avoid major issues in the future. As well as help you get the most enjoyment from BMW ownership.
