This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11657605374 (11 65 7 605 374) and is described as the vacuum reservoir tank found on F10 550i/M5, F06/F13 650i/M6, F02 750i, E70 X5 50i, E71 X6 50i models. The tank accumulates and holds vacuum to be used on the turbos. If vacuum can't be stored the wastegates on the turbo will not function, leading to low boost or overboost faults. There's nothing to really fail on these tanks but they do leak occasionally and require replacement.

The original N63 tank was an aluminum tube that has been replaced with this plastic version. If you're converting from the original aluminum you will need all new lines.
