Motor Mount Inserts - G2X M240i/M340i/M440i, G8X M2/M3/M4 (B58, S58)

Motor mount reinforcement rings for S58 (G8X M2, M3, M4) and B58D (G2X M340i, M440i, M240i, X3 M40i, X4 M40i) applications.

Mount inserts fill the void on top of the original rubber mounts and convert them to a semi-solid mount. Instead of a full solid aluminum mount you get a hybrid that may meet the rules for "non solid mounts". These are precision aluminum spacers that fit into the void on top of the stock B58 (B58D) and S58 rubber engine mounts.

The stiffer the mount the less deflection occurs in the bushing. Deflection can lead to driveline issues, damage from a shifting engine or transmission, broken motor mounts, as well as torque being used to move the engine/transmission instead of traveling along to the drive wheels. By reducing that amount of movement you make the entire platform more reliable. A discernable increase in vibration is noticeable only at idle.

Install is straightforward: after removing your stock mounts, bend the extra rubber piece on the mount, slide the mount over, and install the insets into the mounts by hand, then reinstall into the engine bay.
