Schrick 280/272 Camshaft Set - E46 M3, MZ3, Z4M (S54)

Mild Schrick cams for the S54 in the E46 M3, MZ3, and Z4M are an entry-level upgrade to boost mid and top-end power. These 280/272 cams were initially developed for US M3 before the CSL was released. These are very close in specs to stock CSL cams. The 288/280 sport cams are more popular for making more power but these also have a place as a stock-replacement or just as a mild upgrade.

Intake and exhaust cams each have 12.5mm of valve lift. The extra flow is key to making more power up top. These do not require new pistons, springs, or retainers. New Schrick DLC rocker arms are required (currently on backorder until 2024).

Our Epic Motorsports S54 cam tune works best with this package. Our experience with Epic is more power and torque is available through the stock ECU than any other tune and even more than some standalone tunes. We can even provide Alpha-N tuning to match these cams.

Manufacturer's Notes:
1. While new springs may not be required, you must ensure the new valve lift does not fully compress the spring. It may be necessary to shim the spring's installed height.
2. Valve timing and valve opening durations are shown minus the ramps.
3. Valve timing is shown in °Crankshaft in relation to TDC.
4. All valve lift figures are shown without deduction of valve lash, i.e. the actual valve lift is the stated valve lift minus the valve lash. Hydraulic lifters have no lash so the valve lift is the actual valve lift.
5. Schrick DLC-coated rocker arms are required (cannot be used with stock rocker arms).
