Camshaft Position Sensor (Genuine BMW) - E9X M3 (13627837904)

The camshaft position sensor sends data to the ECU on what position the camshafts are in. This is critical for the ECU to set timing and fuel maps. A failed sensor will not be able to provide the ECU with the necessary info and it will reduce power of even put the car into limp mode. The S65 V8 ECU relies on throttle position, camshaft position, air temp, and atmospheric pressure to set running conditions. A fault in any one of these systems can affect engine performance and power output. A fault code and check engine light should be present for a failed sensor. New o-ring included.

Note: these sensors appear to be overly sensitive to the moisture content in the oil. Cars that sit in storage or do not have regular oil changes may throw a fault code for the cam sensor but it's the oil quality at issue.
