BMW offered the M44 1.9 liter engine in model years 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999. 

Not for cars before the 1996 model year. This engine block seal kit is only for the later OBD2 / OBDII 1.9 liter engine, and will not work on the cars previous to 1996.
