Profile Gasket / Timing Cover Seal - M42/M44 - 11141247849

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11141247849 (11 14 1 247 849) and is described as "Profile-gasket" by BNW. This gasket seals the top of the lower chain case, making it an important timing seal. 

This gasket is used on all M42 and M44 4 cylinder engines, as used in BMW models from 1989 through 1999. This includes the E30 318i/318is/318ic, as well as the E36 318i, 318is, 318ic, and 318ti models spanning model years 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 1999. 

If you are experiencing an oil leak from the front of the engine, it's quite possible you need to replace the timing / profile gasket. This is a new high quality gasket made specifically for the the M42 1.8 liter and M44 1.9 liter four cylinder engines.
