Oil Filler Cap, Rein - 11127560482

New style oil filler cap. If your cap is leaking, first try cleaning the surface around the gasket. If that doesn't work it may be time for a new cap. The oil cap is actually an integral part of the crankcase vent and vacuum pressure inside the valve cover. Just like a coolant reservoir cap, the oil filler cap is one of the things that regulates the amount of pressure and vacuum inside the engine. Keep in mind that too much pressure can blow oil from the cap. This would indicate a problem elsewhere in the crankcase vent system.

Also, BMW does not recommend placing the cap upside down when it's removed as residual oil will leak down past the seal. Keep the cap right side up on a clean surface.

We only sell the newest cap, after a long list of previous versions. This part number replaces previous BMW part numbers 11127560482, 11128655331, 11128507153, 11124737102, 11127560481, 11128619360, 11128619359. Because there were so many previous versions, this new cap may have visual differences to your original. 

This is an OEM oil filler cap manufactured by Rein Automotive - an original supplier to BMW for many engine components. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.

Please note, this oil cap doesn't have any sort of extended branding or oil recommendation types printed on it, as some have through the years. It does not say "BMW recommends Castrol" or anything like that -- which we see as an upgrade. BMW's oil recommendations have changed wildly through the years, while BimmerWorld's are quite established (and you can always call for a recommendation!)
