Specific fitment notes:
F30 335i/335xi/Hybrid 3 - only cars produced on/after 8/2013
F10 535i/Hybrid 5 - only cars produced on/after 8/2013
F12/F13 640i - only cars produced on/after 7/2013

This the oxygen sensor (O2 or Lambda probe) located after the catalytic converter. It reads and checks the status of the exhaust after going through the catalytic converter. The engine computer uses this data to verify the cats are working properly. A failed O2 sensor can set several different types of fault codes so it's a good place to start if you have O2 sensor or heater circuit faults. Most cat manufacturers will insist that you have new post-cat O2 sensors when you install new cats. This is a new OEM O2 sensor from Bosch, the inventors of the system and the original supplier to BMW.

This is an OEM N55 O2 sensor manufactured by Bosch - the original supplier to BMW for this part, as well as many other sensors. As the OEM it meets all of BMW's original design, fitment, and performance requirements and is TUV approved. OEM parts are the best alternative to more expensive Original BMW parts because they are virtually identical without the inflated price tag. This part has a two year warranty.
