This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 13641466116 and is described as Injection Valve (aka Fuel Injector) for the M42 4 cylinder and some 1987+ M30 big six engines. 

For 1987+ models only. This fuel injector was introduced partway through 1986 on 5/6/7 series models, so be sure to check your existing injector carefully. It's possible if you have a late production 1986 your car may or may not use this style injector. On 4 cylinder models, this injector is for the 16 valve M42 only, which was offered from 1989 through 1995.
