Our E36 Fuel Starvation Kit is an absolute must for any 6-cylinder E36 that's used on track, even if only occasionally. With the stock single-pump setup, fuel starvation will occur in sweeping right hand turns. Now with dual pumps in the stock E36 fuel tank, fuel starvation is a thing of the past. This is our more Budget-Friendly version kit, which uses a quality aftermarket fuel pump, rather than the pricey VDO brand pump.
The BimmerWorld View: While the VDO is our preferred for durability and longevity, the price has crept up and up through the years – so by popular demand, this version solves fuel starve with a little less wallet starvation.
As speeds increase, starvation can sometimes occur with over 1/2 tank of fuel! Since most sweeping turns are high speed and starvation can be the same as lifting mid-corner, this can have disastrous results when driving the car at or near its limits. Additionally, starvation causes a lean condition in the engine which can lead to possible detonation and expensive engine damage.
Our race-proven anti-starvation kit eliminates this problem and allows you to run the car much longer than previously possible, making it an absolute must for endurance racing and long days on track. Constructed mostly from OEM and Genuine BMW parts, this kit is completely streetable and operates seamlessly so that you don't know it's there. These E36 kits are intended for race use and will work with a factory fuel gauge and a stock wiring harness, but the reading isn't always perfect.
This E36 Fuel Starvation Kit adds a second fuel pump on the opposite side of the stock pump. Installation is straightforward and takes approximately 1.5 hours. Only simple tools are required with the car on the ground.
Kit includes new genuine OEM fuel pump assemblies, lines, fittings, and detailed instructions.
