This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 13627585493 (13 62 7 585 493) and is described as Genuine BMW "Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor", or MAP sensor for short. MAP sensors can be found in more than one location on turbo charged BMW engines, and are used by the engine control unit to measure and monitor turbo boost pressure. This sensor is used on various BMW turbo engines such as the N54 engine (located on the intake charge pipe), the early N55 (6 cylinder) engines, and early N63 (8 cylinder) engines. Please note on some cars (such as the 8 cylinder models) you may find two of these sensors, one per bank of cylinders. On some models this sensor is found on the intake tube / charge pipe (N54) while on others (N55) it may be found on either intake manifold or the intake tube/charge pipe.

This Boost pressure sensor replaces obsolete BMW part number 13629797773 (13-62-9-797-773).

This MAP sensor was used on most BMW turbo models from 2007 to about 2011 or so, when a newer/revised style sensor started being used. Starting in 2011 (with the N55 and N63 engines) things got more dicey..... (See notes below)

Note on fitment: Cars of the 2011 and later model year may need to check their production date. On E9X 3 series, this includes 2011 E90 335i/335xi sedan and E92/E93 3 Series 335i/335xi Coupe & Convertible 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years. There were potentially two different pressure sensors BMW used. Depending on the location of the sensor (in the intake charge pipe OR in the intake manifold) you may need the "other" later style sensor, BMW part # 13627599042. This circumstance applies to E9X 3 series 3/2011 and newer, F10 5 series 3/2011 and newer, X5 9/2010 and newer, and others.

Note for V8/V12 cars (5/6/7/X series): Car built 3/2012 and later may have a different sensor, depending the location of the sensor. Check your existing sensor/plug to make sure this pressure sensor is compatible.

If you have any question on which sensor(s) you need, let us know and we can check by your BMW VIN to be 100% sure.
