On the stock N54 intake, air from the air filters runs into each turbo through two plastic tubes. Because of the tight fit of the E90/E92/E93 chassis these tubes are made of plastic and are crushed and molded around the various components. This hurts flow and the plastic does not hold up well to heat and chemical exposure.
BMW should have used silicone! These silicone hoses are both stronger and better flowing than the original plastic and they fit in the exact same locations as original. Made from multi-layered silicone they also hold up better with increased boost and underhood temperatures.
If you're building the a high-output turbo N54 and want reliability to match your gains, you need a set of these silicone inlets.
There are multiple variations of turbo inlets, based on your current setup:
> DV or BOV: retaining factory diverter valves (DV) or your chargepipe has been converted to a blow-off valve (BOV). The BOV version has DV ports that are plugged (keeping the option of running DVs in the future).
> Inlet ID: select from 1.75" (stock turbos) or 2.0" (upgraded turbos) inlet diameter
