This electric motor controls the vertical adjustment of HID Xenon headlights on several BMW chassis. The optional Xenon/HID headlights have an added vertical levelling system, designed to aim headlights as your car travels up or down hills to limit blinding on-coming cars. Which this headlight motor fails, it can leave your headlights out of whack, either aimed way too high (blinding oncoming motorists), or too low, limiting your visibility. Both dangerous scenarios. You can also get headlight warning messages caused by this motor failure. Replacement is the fix in these cases.

On cars that use this adjustment motor, there is one motor per headlight assembly and two motors per car. Be sure to order the amount you require for your BMW.
