OEM Ignition Element Xenon-Light - AL Brand - E46 3-Series (1999-2001)

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 63126904548 and is described as AL (Automotive Lighting) OEM Ignition Element (Starter Ballast box) for HID / Xenon Head Light, as used on E46 323i, 325i, 325xi, 328i, 330i, 330xi Sedan/Wagon (1999, 2000, 2001) and E46 323Ci, 325Ci, 328Ci, 330Ci, M3 Coupe/Convertible (2000, 2001). 

This part received a modernization from AL, the original equipment supplier from BMW. The new replacement ignitor / ballast unit is quite a bit smaller than the original, which had a bulb socket and wiring to a remotely wired resistor / ignitor box. This previous design, while used for many years, wasn't known to be the best, either for longevity or ease of installation. This newer, updated version is much smaller, simpler, and performs to the same spec as the original part.
