This plastic cover serves as the access hatch on the back of the headlight / headlamp assembly, which you open/remove to gain access for changing light bulbs. They oftenget lost or broken, and replacement is quite simple and helps seal out the elements (like rain and moisture) and preserving the life of both your headlight and the bulbs that illuminate it.
