Protecting and supporting the human body in the right places and keeping all parts of the body in the same relationship to each other will help minimize injury and greatly increase chances of survival. The design and structure of the seat is perhaps more vital to survival than even the harness. Tests show that in a frontal impact only around 20% of body movement comes from the belt stretching. The remaining 80% is from the body not being contained within the seat. The ability of the seat to absorb crash energy lessens the amount of it that the body has to contend with. And in the case of multiple impacts the belts and seat will continue to deform, making the quality and strength of the structure around you even more vital.

Racetech 9129 seats are certified using the FIA 8862-2009 standards, which require the structure to survive a 70g impact. To attain this level of safety Racetech engineers used even more reinforcement in the shell along with stiff, energy absorbing foam in the head, shoulder and pelvis areas. The FIA standard applies only when the seat is mounted with the included side mounts and seatback brace. The 9129 seats feature extensive lateral support in both the thigh and torso areas to minimize fatigue and for added operational and crash support. These seats are constructed with a Kevlar/carbon-fiber shell, durable foam padding, and removable cushions for mid-back to lower thigh. A rear air port to allow ducting of driver-cooling air is standard.
