Front Left Control Arm, BMW - E46 ZHP Upgrade

This is the E46 ZHP control arm, originally installed on the 330i ZHP Performance Package and then used on the Z4M Coupe/Roadster. With control arms, the quality of the ball joints is key to performance. Standard control arms use a ball joint with a plastic or rubber inner liner. Over time the liner wears out and leaves a lot of slop in the joint. The ZHP control arms, also called E46 Sport arms, have an all metal ball joint with much less slop and play even as it wears. This gives a much more direct feel in the steering and handling. With a better connection between the tire and the suspension, the steering feels better and the car feels more planted. They also last longer, especially when used in track and race cars. This is the Genuine BMW ZHP control arm. An identical OEM ZHP Lemforder arm is also available for less money.
