BMW developed this repair kit to remedy a steering "knock" or "clunk" commonly reported by owners of the ThyssenKrupp made steering rack used on F22/F23 228i, 230i, M235i, M240i (2014-2020), F30/F31 320i, 328d, 328i, 330i, 335i, 340i (2012-2019), F32/F33/F34 428i, 430i, 435i, 440i (2014-2020), F48 X1 281 (2016-2020), F25 X3 28i, 35i(2011-2017), and F26 X4 28i, 35i, and M40i (2015-2018). This repair kit includes revised parts for the "thrust piece", designed by BMW to address the common acoustic irregularities in this German-made Thyssen Krupp steering system.
Only for cars with the Thyssenkrupp steering box. The cars that had this steering system has the "Variable Sports Steering (VSS)", which included steering weight changes in the different modes (eco, comfort, sport etc). NOT for cars with the non-variable ZF made steering box. Please verify before ordering.
