Fluid note: new racks are designed with seals compatible with Pentosin CHF11S or EHF. ATF or similar "Power Steering Fluid" should not be used. Mixing CHF and ATF is not recommended and may lead to premature failure of the seals, pump, or rack and void the warranty. A complete flush of the entire steering system is recommended. We strongly urge you to add the CHF label to the cap on your reservoir (BMW part #71212122171).
This is a new, not rebuilt, steering rack so no core charge applies.
Fitment note: AAE has determined that the E46 rack is functionally identical and now supplies the E46 rack for E36 applications. The E36-specific rack has been discontinued. You will receive an E46 rack. We measured this rack on our E46 race cars and lock-to-lock turns are around 2.8 to 2.85.
