Converting your original M12-sized hubs to M14 gives you some extra safety margin in the strength of your wheel hardware. M12 wheel stud failures can usually be traced to something other than the weakness of the stud. We've never had a wheel stud failure that was not traced to something else - improperly installed or it had reached the end of its service life. Wheel studs are consumable items and should be part of a replacement plan (frequency depends on hours and use). But having an extra safety margin in your wheel stud is not something we would turn down.

The F8X M3/M4 uses M14x1.25 wheel hardware from the factory. And the F8X hubs are a direct retrofit to the E9X platform as well. New hubs, bearings, and hardware are included in this package to make it a straight-forward bolt-on during your next wheel bearing service. No modification necessary! A new addition is an updated rear hub flange. This was used by BMW Motorsport on the M4 GT4 and M2 CSR after seeing occasional failures of the stock F8X rear hub after season-long abuse. The updated Motorsport part has a full hubcentric mounting surface for less stress*.

* note that just because this is an updated part from BMW Motorsport and beefier than the original, it's not indestructible and still subject to stress, cracks, and failures.

Obviously, M14 wheel studs and nuts (or bolts) are required and we have those options listed above. Our wheel studs are a direct by-product of our various racing programs and are truly impressive: heat-treated, 12.9 grade, high-tensile 190,000 psi strength, Chromoly steel, which is shot-peened for additional strength and individually double magnaflux inspected. Additional design features help prevent the typical stress risers caused by threading the stud into a steel hub. The threads are phosphate and oil coated, and are rolled instead of cut which results in a smoother engagement with fewer imperfections. Anaerobic threadlocker is pre-applied which eliminates the need for additional Loctite.

Studs are available in several lengths to suit your needs -
73mm = no spacers
82mm = 5-12mm spacers
92mm = 15-20mm spacers
Also available without studs if you want to source your own.

Note: nuts are 14x1.5 threads. This is the commonly-available wheel nut size and is a coarser thread pitch for fewer spins down to tight. Install nuts are also included.
