Oil Filter Cap, Aluminum - N63TU, N63R, S63, S63TU

This part is listed by BMW as BMW part number 11427615389 (11 42 7 615 389) and is described as the plain oil filter cap for V8 twin-turbo engines - N63TU, N63R, S63, S63TU. This is the standard cap without the drain plug that came out later. This cap is made from aluminum, eliminating any concerns about a cracked original plastic oil filter cap.

There were two versions of the cap available - without (early) or with (late) the drain plug. Because of the upside-down orientation of the filter it seems cleaner and easier to drain the oil out of the filter before removing the cap. This part is manufactured by an aftermarket supplier of European auto parts, including many maintenance items. While not carrying OEM status, this part follows the design of the original very closely and uses similar materials. An aftermarket part may even have the same TUV approval as its OEM counterpart. The brand may even be OEM to another manufacturer besides BMW. This aftermarket brand has a two year warranty - the same as Genuine BMW and OEM brands.
