Does your BMW have a fault code or check engine light for the secondary air intake (SAI) system? You're not alone! The secondary air pump and air pump valve are high-failure parts on BMWs. A typical code for air pump issues is "Secondary Air System Flow Too Low" (an F5 or F6 code on some BMWs). A failed secondary air pump (aux pump) can cause this, as well as the valve on the exhaust manifold that controls the air flow known as the auxiliary air valve.
