BMW Jack Pad - E36

This is the jack pad used on all E36 3 Series models and body styles, including coupes, sedans, convertibles, and the 318ti Compact hatchback.

It's a hard rubber disc which sits on the underside of the rocker panel and provides the best place to position jack stands, a floor jack, or lift arms. By using the jack pad you can be sure the floor and undercarriage won't get scratched or damaged, exposing the bare metal and risking rust and corrosion. Your car originally came with 4 jack pads but they fall out or get damaged. This is the original-style round E36 jack pad. You can also use the E46 block-shaped pad on the E36 which is shaped better for most jack stands.

The BimmerWorld View: Don't even think about using the side jacking points (on the E36 rocker panels / side skirts). Those are just made for emergency tire changing, and generally a bad way to lift an E36. This jack pad is absolutely critical when jacking an E36 from the underside, whether you are using a floor jack or full shop lift. The originals were essentially wear items, destined to eventually wear out, break, or fall out and get lost. Which is why we first started using these less expensive aftermarket versions from URO Parts. It's a very simple part that snaps in place in seconds, and gives your E36 3 Series or E36 M3 a safer and more proper jacking point.
