This is a kit featuring the high-pressure oil line and it's associated replacement parts for the VANOS system on E60 M5 and E63 M6. This hose runs from the high-pressure oil pump to the other pressure hose and then onto the Connecting Line for the VANOS units. The line is made up of a hard metal pipes at the end with flexible metal hose in the middle. Leaks can develop at the fittings between the hard and flexible sections. Not only can oil leak but it reduces the pressure available for the VANOS system and that can lead to very expensive engine damage. A telltale sign of a leaking hose is VANOS system pressure will be low (the pump works at 115 bar).

This line is located inside of the front timing cover and connected to the high-pressure oil pump in the oil pan. The only way to access the pipe and the hose is with the oil pan removed (the front cover can usually remain in place). This line is often replaced at the same time as rod bearings or vice versa. New o-ring, crush seals, and hollow (Banjo) bolts are everything else that you need to replace the line.
